What we do, and by when.
- 01
The day you write
You get a reference number straight away, on the page or by email. Quote it if you write to us again.
- 02
Within 2 working days
We acknowledge your complaint, and tell you if we need anything to find your data or to confirm who you are.
- 03
Within 30 days
We reply with what we found and what we did, or why we could not do what you asked.

This is the longest the DPDP Rules allow for answering a grievance (Rule 14(3)). We do not ask you to wait longer.
If a business called you
The business decides; we help.
When a business uses Graine to call or chat with you, that business decides why and how your data is used, and Graine processes it for the business. Raise your complaint with the business first. If you write to us instead, we pass it to the business and help it reply within these times. We do not answer for it.
If you are not satisfied
The Data Protection Board of India.
The DPDP Act asks you to use our grievance process first (section 13). If our reply does not settle it, or we have not replied within 90 days, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, as the Board's own rules provide. The Board works as a digital office: look to its own website for how to file. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may instead complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
